Just a quick backstory on my situation at the time, I am single mother of 3 boys and at the time I had just had my twins. I had hit rock bottom and stayed with my grandmother trying to figure out a way to get back on my feet after Covid. I knew that going back to temp and warehouse jobs wouldn’t be the move for me anymore. So I started looking through Youtube trying to find a career field I could get into without a college degree and that’s when I came across front end development but I wanted something even more entry level. That’s when I came across your videos on email development.
I started taking your course around, I want to say, October of 2021 after finding your Youtube channel. I decided to take your email developer course as it was super affordable for me in my current situation (which I am grateful for the most)! One of the big reasons that I chose your course as well is that I loved your reviews of your students portfolio’s and you gave HUGE gems on the hiring process.
Long story short, with determination and the help of stackoverflow , I finished your course by the beginning of February with my portfolio fully made with I’ll say 13 coded emails (way more than recommended but I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing), and like 3 landing pages. I found me 2 clients to do a little email developer/marketing services for and landed my first salary job by mid April of 2022 with my first day of work at the start of May ($60,000 a year)!
While working my salary job I actually started looking for more income and landed a 6 month contract position with Amazon ($30/hr) as well!
All in all, I just want to say I appreciate you SOO MUCH Joe, and as a black single mother, the community needs people like you who are willing to lend a helping hand to those who will actually do the work! You put me on!
